For a while now, I’ve been wanting to start a series of book reviews, but was unable to do so mostly because for the past several weeks, I’ve been recuperating from the flu and with other other writing projects taking more presentness….well, the book reviews have taken a back seat.

Until now.

All 12 books on my bookshelve

Taking place in Tulsa, Oklahoma and written in first person, the series follow seventeen year old, Zoe Redbird and her gang of friends as they make their transition into adult vampires (if they can survive The Change, that is) while also battling the forces of evil that has taken over their beloved high school also known as the House of Night with the entire series spanning twelve books.

Written by mother/daughter duo P.C Cast and Kristen Cast, these two have combined their writing skills to put together this delightful series. I’m normally not a fan of first person POV, but these books (which I lovingly call a cross between Harry Potter and Twilight) are just wonderfull and even though these authors are both adults, they do a great job depicting the teenage mind and an equally great job of putting their minds together to create their own world within the real one.

If you or someone you know is looking for the next great read, then I would highly suggest this series and has a little something for everything including romance, suspense, and action.

My rating: 10/10
